Went to Mizzou game with Taylor today!

This is the second time Taylor and I went to the game together. He loves football as much as his daddy. Both times we went to go see the Tigers play they have won and this time they have started the season 5-0! Taylor's little buddy Collin and his dad invited us to go and we jumped at the chance. We left Taylor's game this morning and headed straight there. As for Taylor's game, we played against gargantuans and sadly came out with a loss. Taylor had some good Defensive plays and ran for several long yard gains. Im proud of the little guy.

Time for a quick coffee fix, then off to work I go.

>I just love this picture. It is so me.

Friday at last! Well September 2006 is almost gone forever! On to October and the 2006 Holiday season starts. I woke up pretty early this morning, made some good Starbucks Columbian coffee (of which I have yet to indulge) and am in a great mood. I usually am on Fridays cuz I love my weekends. I hope you all have a great day and a kick butt weekend! The Broncos are on a bye week so my Sunday is open. The Chiefs play at noon on Sunday so Deidra will want to watch that Im sure.

October is almost here and Fall is well on its way!

It is almost time to break out the HALLOWEEN and fall decorations! We will be doing that this weekend. Looks as though our annual pumpkin carving night will be held on the 21st or 22nd so that they don't have too much time to get all yucky and moldy. Taylor has no idea as of yet on what he will be this year. RaeAnn wants to be either a princess or cheer leader. The Hartsburg pumpkin festival will be on the weekend of the 15th and Lisa and James are looking forward to going. It should be a great October! The temperatures have been slowly falling over the last couple weeks. Soon the leaves will be turning. I hope it is a long enjoyable fall this year and that the trees will be exploding with color. I look forward to the leaves, the smells and the overall feeling of fall in all its glory. It is also time to break out all the fall movies Deidra loves. I put them away every year when fall ends so that she doesn't get tired of them, otherwise she would watch them monthly! You know...the Sleepless in Seattle's and the You got Mails and the Gone With The Winds the When Harry met Sally's and stuff. We have started a new night in our house. Every Friday night is now family movie night and is off limits to anyone not living at my house. I have spread myself way to thin over the last decade as far as the weekends go and my little family has suffered for it. I will now devote my weekends to family only. With Deidra in school all week and Taylor in sports and me going to the YMCA every day for at least an hour, the weekends are the only days we truly get together. Sunday is for church and football but luckily I have a wife and two great kids that love football so we are together during that too! YAY! What can I say...I pick em well!

Hope you all are having a great week!

Hi HO Hi HO its off to work I go!

Broncos go 2-1!

Broncos go to New England and make Tom Brady drop the F bomb on national TV! We took a team expected to be a Super Bowl contender and went to their own house and ripped their arms off and beat them with their own limbs! Next week Baltimore comes to Mile High Country! I think this game may have started a fire in our bellies that will be hard to put out!

GO BRONCOS!

TD Taylor!

Taylor had his 3d game of the season today. We played great! Taylor got another touchdown and looked good as he ran the length of the field yet again. When he breaks away from the crowd, no one can seem to stop him. I was so proud of my boy.

Yesterday I played a double header of softball at field of legends. I got a bunch of singles and a bases loaded double in my second game. I did twist my ankle in the second game, but it was fun! I love playing again. It is sure easier with less weight to haul around! CJ keep the 3d base slot open for me foo for when I move up there!

Once again, I down sized!

I got to tell ya, this losing weight stuff only gets easier as you go! I now have a habit formed in eating the right foods and going to the YMCA after work each day. I can't believe that I lost almost half of my target weight loss already. I will have lost half at 232 and I am almost to that point! I will work hard to lose at least 2 lbs by next week but any loss is a job well done!

Fall is almost here...YAY!

Yeppers! Saturday is the first day of Autumn and I am so glad it is finally here! I can't wait for those cold evenings in front of the fireplace with my wife and kids....and dog...and two bearded dragons. It is time to warm up the Barrista expresso maker! I can imagine the aspens are turning in Colorado about now. Hey CJ...Here is a pic of Eleven Mile Lake. You remember that lake that we went fishing at and almost died due to the cold. We couldn't get back in the car cuz I happened to leave the keys inside. Lucky for us, Chad has small wrists and was able to get the key while I pulled the window out just enough....I can't believe the window didn't break. We did catch some trout though! Good times.

Broncos Win Home Opener!

After a nail biting 4 quarters, the score was tied 6 - 6. The Broncos then won the coin toss in OT to march down and kick a 29 yd field goal to win the game! Even though we did not get into the end zone once in the game, we also have not allowed a touchdown against us as of yet this season. The Defense is doing their job but our offense seems to be lacking something. Oh well. A win is a win and boy did we need it! Now we need to work the offensive kinks out and get the ball down the field! On to next week!

GO BRONCOS!

Taylors Football Team Wins First Game!!!

That's right folks! Taylors team the Green Bay Packers beat the Chiefs this morning and guess who got the 1st score on our team?! That's right guys! The Chiefs had the ball on the first possession, and went all the way down to score on 3 plays. When it was our first turn, all the guys thought this would be the same as last week when we lost our first game of the season. On our first offensive play of the game they handed the ball to Taylor on our 10 yd line and he ran a sweep right and turned up the sideline and never looked back scoring our first TD of the season on a run that fired up the team! We never got our extra points, but didn't need them as we scored a TD on all but one of our possessions! We even stopped the Chiefs four times on Defense causing them to turn the ball over on downs, which we only had to do once! I am so proud of the little man. You should have seen him glow after that play! I took a team picture of the guys and the head coach so that I could blog it. It was a great game.

Taylor hates that we are the Packers. Unfortunately we had no choice in that but I promised him that I would be head coach next year and I will pick my own team. My team will consist of Dylan, Evan, Taylor, and some kids that Taylor is pals with at school that are currently on his team. We will be the Broncos if I have anything to do with it.

Not much of a loss this week but a loss none the less!

Well guys, I am down again! Im happy about the loss even though it is not as much as I was hoping. I got sick this week and did not go to the YMCA Tuesday or Wednesday. I also had 3 slices of cheese pizza last night because I was so Hungry after not eating a thing for almost 2 days that it was the ONLY thing that sounded good. A loss is as loss so I will take it and look toward next week. My personal goal for next week: 2 more lbs.

GO BRONCOS!

Secret to my weight loss success this week? The Ebola Diet!

So I went to work yesterday feeling fine. At about 11:00 am my stomach started feeling crampy. I thought it was hunger pangs so I went home for lunch and ate a bite. Throughout the day it got worse, and at about 4:00 pm I felt nasty. When me and the kids got home Taylor let me know he wasn't feeling to good either and so we skipped football practice and the YMCA. As the night came along it hit. Taylor was up half the night and so was I so I skipped work today and he stayed home from school. We are both feeling a bit better today and should be well enough to go to work and school tomorrow. The stomach cramps let up once in awhile so between cramps I feel ok. Friday I get my allergy test done on my back so I will go from sick to sicker Friday Im sure. Here's to a hell of a start to the weekend. Oh well, at least the weather was beautiful today.

Never....Never forget.

As busy as our lives have been, it is easy to get caught up in our own daily grind. It is easy to get upset or sad with normal day to day disappointments we may encounter. We also live in a place where we all take our freedom and way of life for granted. With all that goes on in our own lives both good and bad it is important that we NEVER forget the ones who make it possible for us to live like we do and the people that did not have a chance to do all the things they wanted in life. Never forget. For those who think that if we just keep to ourselves and mind our own personal lives that everything will be ok, I have provided "this list" of people who would probably disagree.

-NEVER FORGET.

Broncos lose a heart breaker 18-10 against the pitiful rams.

So the Broncos are off to a typical start. They lose to a lesser team to start the season. This feels like the beginning of last season. The Broncos came in and never allowed a St. Louis TD, yet due to costly penalties and pitiful turnovers they left with a loss. As usual, the defensive unit of the Broncos dominated, never once letting the pass happy rams into the endzone. The offense played a pitiful first half until late in the 2nd quarter where we went for 4th and 1 on our own 30 yd line and got the first down then we cut through the rams D like butter for the first and only TD of the game. After the half we continued with the turnover virus and ended the game 18-10 and a loss to a team that quite honestly is no longer considered a good team nor a NFL threat anymore. On the upside, we definitely saw some things that needed attention so I fully expect the Broncos to come back to Mile High next week with a heck of an offensive showing. 0-1 for the season...just like last year. Oh well. On to next week.

Go Broncos!

On a good note I think my fantasy team is going to win this week. As of now I am leading, and I have 2 guys left to play tomorrow to my opponents 1 playing tonight and am already leading 52 - 37. Go MILE HIGH MADNESS! (My fantasy football team name)

BOOYA BAYBAY!

Ok...so I gained 10 Lbs....JUST KIDDING!!!! Down again!
I am officially below 240! 2.15 lbs. less than last week! It has been nearly 8 years since I have been in the 230's and I gotta tell ya...it feels wonderful. 6.75 more lbs. to go to reach my half way point! People at work and the nay sayers in my life have now begun to take notice and ask if they can borrow my book...LOL. It makes it so much easier when I have not only my mom and dad but my wife's mom and dad and family telling me that they can see a difference. That means so much to me. I still can't see a difference in the man in the mirror, (insert catchy 80's Michael Jackson song here) but then again I see him every day. The only proof I have is the clothes. Deidra got out my old Broncos #30 jersey and I tried to put it on. Still kind tight, but it is a large and I am nearly into it! About 5 more pounds and it will fit great. Time to dust off some clothes I never really got to wear and go shopping for some new spiffs.

Did anyone catch the full moon tonight?

It was beautiful! I guess they call it the harvest moon when it is that orange color. When me and the kids left the YMCA tonight, Rae looked out the window and said, "look daddy! the moon is following us!" I gotta tell ya, it looked as though it was. It was HUGE! They say that tonight was the best full moon of the year and that it only happens once a year at this time. When Deidra got home from class tonight we all hopped into the bronco and went on a little road trip to a small lake around here. We put the tailgate down and just enjoyed the view for a bit. It was something to truly behold. Mark your calendars for this time next year so you can witness it if you were not lucky enough to catch it tonight.

Hope you all had a good holiday weekend!

All in all, our weekend was a good one. Friday, a buddy of mine (Bonnoman) came over and we played 360 for a bit and had some good chat time. Saturday, we went to Cuba MO to see my grandma and had some great grub and to our delight she was doing awesome! Sunday we had some much needed R&R and while I was taking a nap, Deidra did some much needed yard work. She is superhuman I swear! Today, we went to Deidra's mom and dads for some Jimmy BBQ which always hits the spot. I regretfully passed on the dessert:( Too bad the weekend is over already...I was just warming up!) Well on to the first full work week of September! Only 6 more days until the Broncos first game of the season! 135 hours 20 minutes and aprox. 8 seconds from now!

Grandma is doing fine

Went to see my grandma in Cuba MO today. She looked great! Her hip seems to be doing better and she is up and about in a walker now. She is also finally back in her house which is awesome! We went to Cracker Barrel and had a great dinner there. After that we went back to her house for some coffee and chit chat. Im so glad to see that she is doing so much better. Im so proud of her!

Broncos Finish the Pre-Season with a WIN! End Pre Season 3-1!

With a win at Arizona tonight the Broncos head into the 2007 NFL season with a winning record in the pre-season. The Broncos came back from a 15-20 deficit at the half to beat the Cardinals 29-23 to finish out the final game of the pre season. Time to water the grass at Mile High and get the stands shined up for next week. Broncos start the season at St. Louis on the 10th. Time for the Bronco Nation to get aboard, kick the tires and head towards the Play Offs. GO BRONCOS!!!

Jeez....I need to update this blog eh???

Ok, so I keep saying I will update this thing, and I don't.  I HAVE BEEN ONE BUSY SUCKAFOO!  A quick overview: Our tomato plants grew ...
