DOWN AGAIN!!! WOO HOO!!!

Well Im officially more than 1/3 of the way there! I have to admit, with the little bites of naughty food here and there over the past week, I am shocked that I still lost! I have been going to the YMCA every day since the start of this and I am at the point where I look forward to my daily wind down at the gym. If I....WHEN I get below 240 it will be the first time since my son was a baby that I was in the 230's. I am so freaked out about this. For the first time since I started, I can notice a difference in the mirror in the mornings now. One bad thing....I need to go clothes shopping soon :)

Broncos send the Texans home in tears!

Once again, our defense was shown to be one of the toughest in the NFL. The First team D let no one near the endzone and our 2nd team offense "aka: Jay Cutler" proves that he was worth the draft spot as he easily picked apart the Texans D on a great TD drive in the second half. Final score: 17-14...Don't let the score fool you...They scored on our 2nd and 3d string D late in the game...and it was tough for them even at that! Way to go Bronco Nation!

Im so excited about my loss this week!

Get this! I cheated a bit this last weekend...Ok...I cheated A LOT! I ate Chinese on Friday, and on Saturday I ate a bunch of pizza with my pals Brad and David, whom I have not seen for a long time, and also indulged with some brewha's. I was sad on Monday...I showed about a 2 lb. Gain and this ticked me off. I went back to the YMCA and busted it for the next several days and low and behold....Weighed in at 243 on the mark this evening! I am so happy that even if I cheat a bit, I still lose, so long as I get back to business on Monday. Im so happy that I still took some weight off and even cheated a bit. This is getting easier week by week. I am finally starting to look forward to the YMCA every day now. I may even start going on weekends now. Not because I have to but because I WANT to...Funny how that works eh? Well on to next week and hopefully I can hit 240. Any loss will be welcome. I am so proud of myself! So many people try to lose weight, but just do not have the willpower. I will prove that it not only can be done, but it is not hard to do it. So long as you WANT to do it.

Here is a pic of my progress since I started off of the web community I am now a part of:

Back to School...

What does the picture above have to do with school you might be wondering? Well, it is a pic of an autumn Colorado sunset. Deidra started her final year of school yesterday, and with each passing week we get closer to starting a new life. When she graduates next fall, pictures like the one above will be not only just as beautiful, but easily taken with my own camera just by walking outside and going for a drive! It seems so close now. I am so proud of the hard work and dedication my wife has shown for the last year! Deidra has accomplished so much already! We have started selling odds and ends around the house. I don't want to bring much with us. We plan to start a new life together and that means buying brand new stuff. No need to pack everything up and bring it with us. We will only bring the most important things with us. As for all the rest....bye bye clutter! I am going to Denver in October for the Broncos vs. Raiders game. I have field tickets for me and CJ. While I am out there, I plan to check out some hospitals and destinations for Deidra so that our choices will be better made as to where we will go.

With each passing week, I get more and more excited and motivated to get out of this humid pitiful state. Next summer the real decisions will be made, but as for now...just the preparation.

Taylor had a blast!

Although his birthday was on the 8th, we waited until Saturday to throw him the bash. We did it UP! We went with the whole Pirates of the Caribbean theme, and he loved it! The family came over and we had pizza, movie and a treasure hunt, and then Dylan and Evan spent the night and the boys stayed up until 1:00 am. I taught them all to play ESPN Football. Of coarse I was the QB and Taylor and the boys changed from RB to WR. We were on the same team and we demolished the opposition. Taylor is taking a nap right now. He woke up at 7:00 with the boys and he is no doubt tired from all of the fun.

Lost!

As of today, I officially lost 16 lbs and counting! Guys, I gotta tell ya, I was really skeptical at first. So much so in fact that I even thought I had to have gained with as much food as I have been eating. But the truth is I have lost this weight, and it just keeps coming off! Of coarse I am also hitting the YMCA pretty hard. The diet assures me I will lose the weight even if my exercise is minimal due to eating the right fats and the right sugars, but I enjoy the feeling I get after a good workout. Brings me back to Football practice days. Plus there are T.V.s in the fitness room that I can watch my sports news and I lose weight while preparing for my fantasy football season. "CJ, this year belongs to the madness!" Anyhow, I hope all of you are doing well and I will update the lb. tracker next Wednesday. One more pound would be nice!

Congrats to Sarah and Chad!!!

They just had their first little baby. On August 8th at about 5pm, my best friend and his lovely wife brought a perfect baby girl into the world. I was told the name was Brooke although my spelling may be off. I will correct the spelling and give you all the stats when he calls me with all the technical mumbo. I am so proud of you guys!

Can you believe that his first baby and my first baby share the exact same birthday!! Little Taylor was born on 08/08/98 and little Brooke is born on 08/08/06. Exactly 8 years difference and on the same exact day! Taylor was born at 1:53 and Brooke was born at 5:05 ish.

Hopefully they will email me pics soon!!! (HINT HINT) Need to get her up on the bloggy!

Much love and God bless new mommy and daddy Johnson.

Watch my progress!

Here is my goal ticker. It shows where I started and my goal. The sunshine is where I am at currently. I will post one of these pics each time I check. I weigh in tomorrow. Hope I lost at least a pound!

Starting to get the weight down

As all of you know, the Bryant of 1997 looked a bit different from the Bryant of 2006. Well its time to change all of that. For those of you who don't believe I can do it, join the long line and prepare to be wrong. For those of you who know I can, thank you. For those of you who are skeptical, I can understand. For one, not many people have the willpower to quit an addiction. Smoking has always been the main thing most smokers never seem to kick. As a matter of fact the percent of smokers trying to quit is about 49% in men and 47% in women. The failure rate is mind boggling! Only 4% of those trying to quit actually do it. Most of you know I smoked from my early teens and well into early adulthood. Started for the same reason everyone else does. In my Late 20's I decided it was enough. I am happily one of the 4%. I must say that quitting was hard, and I do miss it at times, but the cravings are no longer there. I miss the smoker camaraderie more than anything else. If you are a smoker, it feels as though you are part of a secret society. No matter where you went, all you needed was a cigarette, and the smoker next to you was a friend. I quit one of the hardest things to quit and never looked back.

I will post my decline as the big man, to the normal stud that I used to be...lol.
I started the exercise and nutrition program a couple weeks ago.
At my biggest I was 265. As of last Tuesday my weight was 252.5.
I weigh in again on Wed. I will post my weight then.

Your prayers are appreciated during this life change that I have presented myself. I have hella willpower and will not falter. I have dubbed this trial of life as "Getting into Colorado shape!" By the time Deidra and I move, I plan to be at the weight I was when I left. 200 even. 13.5 lbs. down...52.5 to go. I am shooting for at least 1 lb. a week. Im excited at the loss so far but also realize that the first 3 weeks is pretty deceiving. You should only lose about 1 lb a week to be safe and you HAVE to exercise, which is many weight losers problem. That's why they are all mushy. I have my plan of attack and can't wait for both physical and health results.

Mark and family start to rebuild

Looks like they have now officially started to rebuild the garage. Im glad everything is now starting to heal.

Heat wave continues!

It has reached 106 in this sucky state in the last 2 weeks! My brother CJ in Colorado says its hot out there but I would take a 95 in Colorado over an 88 in Missouri any day. This humid stuff sucks monkey butt! Its like breathing bath water down here! Supposed to cool down tomorrow...high 80's. Woo hoo. Yippidy dippidy doo. Still sucks. Then its back to the 90s and up after Saturday night. C'mon Fall!!!!

Jeez....I need to update this blog eh???

Ok, so I keep saying I will update this thing, and I don't.  I HAVE BEEN ONE BUSY SUCKAFOO!  A quick overview: Our tomato plants grew ...
