Enjoy the weekend!

I hope you are all enjoying your memorial day weekend. This morning the we went to watch the annual Memorial Day air show. It was better than last year! They had a pretty decent show this time. Taylor and I love to watch the A10 Warthog tear through the clouds and do all kinds of pretty cool maneuvers. RaeAnn loved the F18. As it went by at half its max speed it took about 5 seconds for the sound to reach us after it went by. Scared the bejesus out of Taylor. It was great! Time to rest up. We are finally coming back from a week of sickness.

While you are out and about this weekend enjoying your local festivities or just relaxing at home, make sure you take time to remember how lucky we are as a country and why we have the ability to enjoy the life we live.

Pikes Peak or Bust gets a new look!

Whats up with this pic? Dunno, just thought it was cool.

Well, it took over an hour to redo the entire web blog but at the end I think it was worth it. You will notice a much different look. A better look. I love it. It is also much easier to access my template and I don't have to mess with HTML anymore. I haven't posted in quite a while and I'm sorry about that. This week just plain sucked! I was sick on Monday and Tuesday home from work. I should have stayed home on Wednesday but decided to stick it out. Heck, I still feel a bit under the weather. On the good side of things I got my air conditioner fixed so all is well..."you hear that summer? Bring it!" Deidra is loving her new work life. Even though she isn't in her "real" job yet, the idea that she will be doing what she is doing now for more money than she made in that state job makes her all excited.

I'm tired, need sleep. Big weekend ahead of us and a storm is blowing in which always makes for great sleeping for me.

Check out the new layout of the blog. Look to the right and scroll down. Look at all the new stuff and play around with it. I hope you enjoy it. Feel free to comment on this post to let me know what you think.
Like to see anything else on this blog? Let me know and Ill do what I can.

Good night and God bless.

Attention CJ and EJ....

Zonta Club Lunch

Today, Deidra and I went to the Zonta Club Luncheon at Capital Plaza. We got to dress up in our fine duds and eat some great cuisine. Deidra's mom Mary and her sisters Monica and Ashley joined us for the occasion. Once again I just watched in awe as Deidra walked into and lit up the room. Have I mentioned how lucky I am?

For all the special Moms out there!

For all our special mom's out there. You brought us into the world. You loved us as your child. You helped make us the person we have become. We love you. For the special women in our lives that blessed us with marriage and transformed us from being just a man into a father. We love you.
Happy Mother's Day!

Loving my Ipod

I've got to say, one of the most incredible inventions of the last decade is the Ipod. My pal got one and one day at the YMCA he let me borrow it for a bit. From that moment on I wanted one. Deidra has wanted one for over a year but I never did the research and thought of it as just a glorified mp3 player. I couldn't have been more wrong. Not only does it play any movie I download to it and not only does it play music but once you download Itunes you have an unlimited amount of podcasts to choose from. I have downloaded many podcasts since I bought the thing and enjoy listening to Steve and DC in the morning, 3 wine guys, mile high sports radio, and learning Spanish. I have over 540 songs downloaded on it, 15 movies and over 180 podcasts and I have not even touched the 80 GB of space on its hard drive. It comes with about 74 GB unused and I still have 65 GB left after all the above downloaded to it. One bad mamma jamma!

FREEEDOM!

Deidra is officially done with working for the state. Her last day was today and when I got home she was all smiles. This day has been seemingly out of reach for many years but today she is free. She starts her clinicals on Monday and is looking forward to them as a 5 year old kid looks forward to Christmas morning. I'm so happy she is done with the state job. Now she can do something that really is truly rewarding and enjoyable at the same time. She will be living her dream.

Garage sale went well!

So we had our annual garage sale today. Deidra was up at 5 in the morning getting ready for it. I can't believe how many people showed up. We sold a bunch of stuff. Next years garage sale will be larger do to the fact that it will be our last garage sale in this house. We don't want to bring much with us. We will sell just about anything left in next years garage sale that we don't get rid of throughout the remainder of this year. Our goal is to start completely fresh in our new home. On a side note for today, Taylor and Rae and Deidra's sisters girl Riley made a killing selling soda and water at 50 cents a pop! No kidding...like 60 bucks! They split it 3 ways and are already talking about what they are going to buy with their cut. As for Deidra and I, our money will be well spent on ourselves. We made a bit over 200 bucks on the sale selling items for less than 5 bucks. Only a couple items went for over 20 bucks and that was bigger items that I didn't really have plans to sell at first. Heck, even stuff I was about to toss went for change! I'm happy.

1/4 of the year officially over!

Can you believe that the year is 1/4 over already? Not that we want to rush through life, but I have to admit I am glad to see it go. I get 5 days off starting Friday and will use them as I see fit. I have not had a real vacation since I went to Colorado to visit my brother CJ. Deidra and I will use this weekend to do some serious spring cleaning and are having a garage sale to sell as much as we can. Time to simplify and prepare for the obvious. Its getting more exciting with every passing month. I can't believe we are in the final stages.

Jeez....I need to update this blog eh???

Ok, so I keep saying I will update this thing, and I don't.  I HAVE BEEN ONE BUSY SUCKAFOO!  A quick overview: Our tomato plants grew ...
