Ok, so to be clear, this blog was created to invite my close friends and family into our lives. In a way to get a cookie from the cookie bowl of our lives and enjoy a small portion of what we enjoy daily. hahaha. Truly I started this blog to give a small window view into the month to month world that we are experiencing as we struggle to do what most would consider unthinkable; to leave an entire world with a certain paycheck for another that is healthier, cleaner and the paycheck may be smaller. It seems crazy until you sit down and look at the big picture.

I believe each of us were created with the chance to make something great of our lives and live in it. Don't misunderstand that last sentence. "Something great" in the past could be something as big as discovering that the world was round. Could have been finding the cure to some terrible disease that killed many that you love. It could have been moving out into the unknown with the ones you love to discover what lies beyond and make an exciting and wonderful life and the start of some small legacy that your future will unfold to those that it matters to. For me, I believe that I need more in life for me and for my family. I also believe that to obtain that, we need to seek less.

For those of you who are christian and believe as I do that you were created by one God that loves you and wants you to seek your life as he understands it to be, this will be easier for you to understand. For those of you who are not, I can only say that each of us depend on too many things that are made by someone else and without those things we would no longer be able to function and would shut down just as your computer or your iphone shut down when you no longer provide the power for it to work.

In short, I believe we depend on too much. My goal in the coming years is to learn to do more on my own and share this adventure with my family. It will be a simple change at first but a change none the less towards becoming less stressed in life.

The format of this blog will change in the very soon future into something else. We will be moving soon and our new life will be starting. We will be starting fresh and new and so will this blog.

NFL Officials Change NFL Fumble rules....but only in this case...for this game only...

It appears that the ("Ground can't cause a fumble") rule in the NFL has been abolished for this particular game and for today only and only when it pertains to Tebow on the Denver Broncos. I just watched Jarred Allen cause Tebow to go to the ground...and when Tebow was coming down to the ground with the ball. Once the ball touches the ground the ball comes out of his hand...because the ground causes it to come out...but its a fumble? Ok...so it was probably a mistake by an official right? So the play goes under review because it is obvious that the ball came out only after the ball touches the ground while in full possession by Tebow causing the play to be over and is considered a sack....Nope. Not today. Review made...Fumble recorded.

Question: How much do the NFL officials get paid for their stellar play calling ability?

Just wondering. Its too much in my opinnion.

Orton Leaves Town

Just some quick facts for those of you that like to look at stats...

Since Jay Cutler has been traded to the Bears:

Orton went 12-21 as the Broncos starter, including 1-4 this season before Tebow was put into the lineup. Almost 2 times more losses than total wins. The Broncos are 4-1 in Tebow's starts this season leading into a rematch with San Diego. Fact.

Jay Cutler is 7 - 3 this year with the Chicago Bears and have a shot at a run into the playoffs....Jay got injured and heads to the sideline for the rest of the season....The Bears went 11 - 5 last year and made it into the playoffs with Jay....this year they are on their way at a second stab at it...Now that Jay is out it seems as though they are in some trouble? Orton wants to go back to Chicago....If Chicago is desperate for a QB while Jay is gone who do you think has Chicago experience that just so happens to be needing a QB job now?? And...how ya think they will do with Orton at the lead of their winning season? Only time will tell...I however feel as though I already know as do all of the other Bronco fans out there. You Jay Cutler haters in Chicago should have been a bit more careful with what you wished for...ya may just get it now. Better luck next year Chicago...you pick up Orton...your playoff chances go bye bye this year. Hey! But he is safe right??!! HA! Better get used to that expression...the announcers love to use it in explaining his red zone style. Don't worry...if you forget what a red zone touchdown looks like, just let me know. I can hook ya up with some Tebow highlights.

Final Steps!

I created this blog on the day after Christmas, 2005. Almost 6 years later we are finally putting the final pieces of the plan together that caused this blog to come about. There is no accident that the blog is called "Pikes Peak or Bust". Our main goal from the beginning has been to leave this house and this town to pursue a "better" lifestyle for my wife, my children and me. When this blog started we were both working low paying state jobs in a town that did nothing for us. Since that time, we made several very big decisions to change our little families way of life. For one, getting my wife a suitable job that she truly enjoyed and that deserved her was my main goal at the beginning. So we decided that she needed to go back to school. It was very hard for her, and I have to admit at times I did think it was too much for her to handle. A full time mom with a full time job going to school full time??? Not possible! Little did I know I was married to Super Woman. I am so proud of my wife. The next step was for me to get a better job and when I applied for a uniformed civilian job in the Patrol (for the 4th time) I was happy to find out that I was accepted. Almost 6 years later we have more than doubled our salary and we have used the extra money to get us closer to our next goal. Complete debt freedom. Our true goal is, as I stated above, to pursue a "better" lifestyle for my family. One thing that I did come to realize was that happiness was not a direct reflection of how much money you make.

The final steps are in motion as of 2:26 today. I talked to a real estate agent in regards to selling this house and we are about to list the house and pay off the rest of the debt we have and cross that goal off the list. Once the house is on the market, the agent predicts around a 90 day sale which would be perfect. Once we sell the house and pay off as much if not all of the debt with our profit, we will then be in our final steps to leaving. Deidra will then apply for her jobs and we will start making 3 day vacations out to the areas we are interested in.

The excitement is about to begin!

Oh...quick side note...down to 254! Still losing! 6 more pounds and I will have reached a weight that I have not been since my son was born! Boom Baby!

Broncos Fall 29-24...But......

Sure, the Broncos lost. Sure, it was to the Chargers which was picked by all to win anyhow. Sure, Orton was picked to be the safe option as QB in a game that was predicted as a loss. Sure, Orton is the "safe" option as they call him, throws the ball away "safely" when he was about to lose yards or be sacked. BUT....

What you wont hear is that the chance to win was there from the beginning. What you wont be told is the back story of what could have been. Let me bring you up to date. For the last 5 games when Orton threw the ball out of bounds to be "safe" or crawled into a little ball before his inevitable oncoming sack or was stopped in the red zone only to walk away with 3 points or less....the Tebow boo birds came out in full force. Sure Tebow is a very nice guy. A religious guy that thanks his team members first and never takes the credit himself. For the last 5 games I had to listen to announcer after announcer (some being ex-NFL QB's) talk about how the crowd just didn't understand that a guy like Tebow is best left on the sideline due to throwing inaccuracies or a weird release of the ball.

With 1 Quarter of play left, the Broncos were down 24 - 10 in an already chocked up loss by the announcers and most of Denver. Orton was doing his thing...and I was trying to stay awake on my couch. Then they decided to go with Tebow! The first couple sets he went 3 and out...a couple bad throws true (hit the hands none the less and should have been caught) and a couple bad snap takes (it was after all his second time behind the 1st string snap man). Then Tebow came out to play. My wife and I started to wake up and watch the real story unfold. With one half of a 4th quarter over, Tebow was trying to win! And you could see it in the way he pumped the team up on the sidelines. Trying to win against the Chargers and I saw the fear in Crybaby Rivers eyes. He new he was about to become an example of Tebow. In the next set Tebow made the first downs happen. Not with his arm every time...but a first down after first down happened none the less...then he pushed his way into the endzone and made a 2 point conversion. Then another score and we were within 3 of winning. He avoided the sack threw the ball in the air with 1 second to go in the forth...and....we missed it. The Broncos lost the game. The fans however and me as well did not. We won. We cheered for the guy leaving the field as the comeback kid that never got the chance to show us what he would have done with 4 quarters against a beatable Chargers team.

1st and goal on the 1 and you cant get the TD???? The fans want to get behind you bud. I want to believe you can pull together...you just do NOT get the job done! Red Zone disaster! Orton: Get the ball out of your hands faster....better yet....tap out to Tebow. 1st and goal on the 1 with Tebow? How ya think that would have panned out guys? Ya...we all know how that woulda panned out....with a big win against a team that was thought to be a monster...and an away game at that. Instead...loss.

I remember.

On this 10 year anniversary, it is more important than ever to remember the moment in our life when everything changed forever. Many events take place on any given frozen moment in your life when you look around and realize that your life will no longer resemble what you found as normal just moments ago. That moment for me, as it was for many, began on 9-11-2001.

I was in my car on the way to work. I was listening to Bob & Tom (radio talk show) as I normally did each morning during any typical work day before that day. I remember the talk show stopped and made the announcement that a plane had hit one of the twin towers in NYC. I remember feeling uneasy about that moment. I have always been someone that thinks about the worst case scenario when some event of any magnitude takes place and I remember thinking that someone did it on purpose. When I was pulling into my parking space at work I sat and listened to the show as it had turned into a more serious show from its typical humor based material. I walked into my office and was surprised that no one else had realized what had happened. I was more surprised that no one in the office seemed to understand the importance of that moment. I turned my radio on near my computer and tried to locate a station giving any information out about the event. Getting any kind of reception in the Truman State office building was near impossible but I did find an AM station that was reporting about the event. As the time passed, everyone in the office started to understand the importance of that moment when the radio reported that the second tower had been hit by a second plane. From that moment on and into the rest of the day, nobody in the office spoke much. Everyone just sat there helpless as each attack took place. Listening to the information that the Pentagon was hit....and the possibility that there were many planes incoming with unknown targets in mind. It made me sick. I remember feeling so much pain for the many families that had, in one moment, been torn completely apart by one evil act of hate. I remember thinking to myself that it takes a very weak and scared individual or group of idiots to carry out such a blatant act of such cowardice. Its as if they hated someone so much but was so scared of them that instead of trying to fight the one they hated, they instead turned their attack on some innocent woman pushing a child in a baby cart down the street. True cowardice. It was not some master plan carried out by some intelligent mastermind. It was as easy as throwing a grenade into a fish bowl full of fish. This will always be portrayed as some long thought of plot by some secret terrorist agency far overseas...but to me it is what it is...a very simple plot thought up by the very simple minds of some less than human trash living in huts in a desert with an over abundance of unearned money and the ability to walk onto a plane and scare innocent people in order to crash the plane.

I will always feel pain for those lost in the terrible attack on innocence in this country.

God Bless all of those who were lost on that horrible day. God Bless those still coping with their losses. God Bless those who are coping with sickness now after breathing all of that poison while trying to dig out our loved ones. God Bless all of the hero's that stood on that sacred ground and gave their lives so that there was even a small chance that they could save someone from that hell even knowing that the chance probably did not exist.

I hate when you look at the weather channel and see the word "Severe Weather" over our area...only our "Severe" weather consists of flood warnings, high pollen levels and severe heat issues. 38 people died in Missouri due to the heat during the damn heat wave. DIED BECAUSE OF THE HEAT!

We are so close I can taste it and so can Deidra. We are finding ourselves looking at homes in Colorado on almost a daily basis now. We have several areas narrowed down and I think we will be making some very large moves in the very near future.

Had the carpet dude come by today to give us the estimate on our back three rooms....that will be the last big thing we have to do other than some touch ups with paint some decor issues which we should be getting fixed after the carpet goes down. Easy to do the decor of rooms with no furniture in them and since we have to move the furniture out to make way for the new carpet, we can just make them look "sale prep" ready. Looks as though our world is about to open up into a life change very soon. I'm getting chills just blogging about it right now.

So we decided that it is important to keep a gym membership. Once we got on a pretty good diet and exercise program at home, we got rid of it. The problem is, if you are not paying money to a gym to get in shape, you don't have to pay anyone to get into shape....thus you do not get into shape, because you'll be damned if you are going to waste free time doing something that "hurts" or "makes you tired" (thus getting you into shape)....so you have to go back to that place that you hate to go and pay for a membership to force you to go because you have to pay and you'll be damned if you are going to waste good money on something that you do not use.

Trust me...read that over. You will understand...and agree.

So last week my little family went on a much needed R&R vacation to the land of clean air and beautiful mountain sunsets. I took my camera and popped off about 700 plus photos in "RAW" format that has been a bit hard to work through on my NIKON software. I have been able to get some of the photos formatted to a smaller more web friendly version for your viewing pleasure. These photos are in a file on my computer and I will be putting them on this blog in order that they were taken with a little info about each. Bear with me because the reformatting from RAW to JPEG is not as easy as you would think with this many photos. Here are a few of the photo's that were taken at random times throughout the week. Missouri Blizzard 2011!

So...its been over 100 years since Missouri saw such a storm. I've seen 4. However it is still funny that if you turn on the radio, it is nothing but gloom and doom for the state of Missouri for days to come. I have to say I'm amazed that people are not straddling highway billboard signs holding up handwritten cardboard signs with the words "Repent! For the time is at hand!" written in bold black letters on them. You would think that the worlds end is at hand listening to the radio and talking to people around here. What can I say. If you lived in Colorado you would understand that a blizzard is nothing more than a bunch of snow being blown around that makes it hard if not impossible to drive due to visibility....not because OF snow...but the addition of wind BLOWING snow. You could have blizzard conditions with several inches of snow...just happens that we are getting a bunch of the white stuff too. It will be white around here for a good week or so, but the roads will be OK for the most part by Friday. Don't go out and buy canned goods and boxes of Spam and Tang just yet. We will be OK. None the less the snow is beautiful and I'm going to take a bunch of pictures. Lets face it...snow is a rare thing in this state so I need to enjoy it while I got it...wont be around for another 100 years to see more! I say...tuck in and enjoy the wonder of mother nature. It cant snow like this all the time. Pictures to come soon. For those of you out in this that don't have to be or for those filling peoples heads with the hype of how Missouri will never be the same after this....do me a favor m-kay? Look up the word "Stupid" in the dictionary...then look in the mirror for me...then make the connection.

So here is to the end of another NFL year and the end of yet another NFL Fantasy Football year. I ended the season by winning my second championship by knocking off the #1 team to make it into the Super Bowl and by beating the #2 team to win the Super Bowl once again! For my prize???........I got....eh....well.....nothing.

My trick? Put Broncos on the team. Both of my Super Bowl wins came at the hands of Denver Broncos. I benched Drew Brees and put Tebow in for my final game. Had I not done that...I would have lost. Gotta love my Broncos!

Next year will be the first year in a long time that we have had a team leader behind QB. Now we need to work on our defense and get a couple more weapons to step up.

That feeling may also be the fact that the Raiders and the Chargers just got their comeuppance and went home with heads dropped to the floor. Season enders...both of em...HA! For you uneducated Charger and Raider fans...the definition of "comeuppance" is: a punishment or retribution that one deserves. So....Go Home! NO SOUP FOR YOU!

Only got one thing to say. Good riddance to a coach that single handedly dismantled one of the top 2 (probably would have been the #1) offensive teams in the league.

Now on to another coach. Sad thing is, word on the street is that Tebow may be done as well if the next coach is not willing to work his kinks out and help him show his true talent. I hope not. We need a Tebow on the field if only to bring a team, that has been ripped apart, back together into something that resembles the Broncos we know and love.

Silver Dollar City AGAIN! Woo hoo!

We went to Silver Dollar City this weekend with my parents and my sister and her two boys and we had a great time! The weather was a bit cool but only cold enough to make the hot chocolate and wassail all the more welcome. We stayed a couple nights in a small quaint little lodge near the park and had a couple days at the park followed by a couple nights with some martini's and Deidra's cheese ball. Good stuff. Memories made that will last a lifetime. Thank you Mom and Dad for coming down with us. Had a great time!

Tebow got his first throwing TD of the season.

Broncos defeat the KC Chiefs at Mile High 49 - 29. Does this pummeling look a bit familiar? Yep...Broncos got beat by the lowly Raiders with a similar score several weeks ago...The Raiders went on to barely beat the Chiefs...and the Broncos made the Chiefs look like a high school 3rd rate tennis team. If you run the numbers...that means if the Raiders came back to Mile High, the score would reflect the same destruction against the Raiders. When a team falls behind by 3 TD's in the first 25 seconds....its hard for the other team not to want to give up, and that is precisely what the Broncos did several weeks ago thus giving the Raiders false hope as to how good they truly are...which is actually the worst team in the AFC. All you will have to do is continue to watch the season unfold and see the decline of the Raiders in the next several games.

The Broncos however proved one thing: You don't come to Mile High with the expectations to win....EVER! So goodnight to the #1...wait...#2 now team in the NFL. You just got your well deserved "come up-ins". For all of you who loved to drown me in all of your Bronco hating rhetoric after that ill fated Raiders game....You just got yours as well. Enjoy! So as you drag your candy asses onto your plane and fly back to Kansas City...look out the window....cuz that dude below the plane down there on the tarmac....ya, that's me.

As always we had a great time! It was around 60 degrees during the day and was a bit chilly at night. This is a great picture taken outside the condo though I cant take credit for it. Hope everyone had a safe and wonderful 4th of July! We went to Deidra's mom and dads lake house Saturday and had a great day. Fishing, boating and just hanging out on the back deck in the breeze. Was a great day.

Woke up this morning and went fishing. Taylor is now known as "Sir Tortoise" due to the fact that he is the only person I know that caught not one but two turtles while fishing in two different locations. One on the lake yesterday, and one on the river today. Rae caught what had to be the smallest fish known to man on a normal size hook which is hard to do, and she caught another through the belly on a snag. Deidra caught one catfish after another and I caught a bass on a jig. Good times! Well.....On to the second half of the year!

Word on the street is that the "Duke of Denver" may in fact be looking to enter into some sort of a deal with the Broncos, possibly to be some sort of help on the sidelines as early as this year. This would be a step in the right direction in my book. When you have someone that has the possibility to become a great QB in Tim "The Tool Man" T-BO sitting there on the sidelines with none other than the "7th" wonder of the world...you got the makings of a bubbling brew-dog that would no doubt help bring T-BO to heights he would not have seen. I for one hope he signs on the dotted line soon....cuz we gots to get this winning thing back in Denver!

USA loses to Ghana. Last 15 minutes a joke. Ghana wastes about 15 minutes faking injuries, changing players on toss ins, shaking hands with other team players on field while on the way across the field to the ball....refs give 3 minutes back.

I'm trying ... trying to find interest in this soccer thing but I got to tell ya, I'm about fed up with basketball "flops" of players just to get free throws that are not deserved. Football "kneeling" to win the game. Baseball "Juicing" to hit home runs. And now Soccer? Soccer with its fake injuries, slow sub-ins, all the time wasting? A game where the refs can call obvious bad penalties and when asked why, do not have to give a reason? Gotta tell ya, I wish this was a world where the game was played to the end from start to finish. Where both teams leave it all on the field and that the team that won was the team that fought the hardest. I guess that only still happens in boxing. Ya see, when there is a sport where you are confined in a small ring, a ring that is hard to move around in, and in that ring you are facing someone that sees you trying to run away to waste time....when he catches you.....Bad BAD things happen to your face. And as the coward gets beaten from your body...the crowd cheers at the person doing the pounding and laughs at the coward. Of coarse its only a matter of time before boxers who are winning the match have a way of knowing that as long as he does not get knocked out he can just run around the ring and wait for the time to tick down. Imagine an entire final round of boxing where the "point" leader runs away from the other guy like a chicken while 5 minutes ticks off the timer.
Don't get me wrong. Trying to hold on to a lead by passing...or keeping the ball from the other team while playing is fine! Its a good win that way if you can do that...where it gets "coward" like is when you fake an injury or any kind of cowardly way that is not related to playing the game itself. That is what Ghana did and for that I see them as not winners of a game well played but the team that lead the game in the final 30 minutes only to try "flopping" or "Kneeling" in a sense and that is what separates true hero's and cowards. Cheer on mighty Africa...you are now known for not only those ridiculous horns, but also teams that are afraid to play a game to the end. You will not win the World Cup. Know how I know? You may be able to win a couple games here and there by "Flopping" and "Kneeling" but true winners of the big games....they WIN the games from start to finish. So onto 2014 and the next Cup. I will be there rooting on my USA. As for Ghana....I know a place you can put those horns after your FIFA loss......

After a hard fought game, the USA come back kids once again show what true American pride is all about. During the early minutes of the game we landed in an identical situation as in the previous game which had us throwing our hands up and wondering what happened. They took yet another goal from the US that not only seemed as though it was a bad call...but was proven bad with the slow motion replay. Not sure whats going on with the pitiful calling. All seemed lost but with less than 2 minutes remaining in the game we rushed down the field for a heart stopping kick on goal which was deflected only to be tapped in by our second wave. Very nice finish to a lack luster officiating performance for the last two games. Now we need to look to Saturday and start making history.

U.S. should have won!

After falling behind 0 - 2 and the end of the game getting close the U.S. "come back kids" fly back into the game with two hard earned goals to bring them within striking distance of a record breaking come back win....only to be robbed of said goal within minutes of the close of the game by....you guessed it....a soccer official. There was no foul ... it was obvious, and when asked about why he called it....he had no answers.

So we tied.

What could have been the trigger to get more U.S. people involved in the worldwide soccer craze turned out to be what may keep them uninterested. Great job...well done....or pip pip cheerio...or jolly good..or whatever.

Well, the Lakers win yet again in a NBA game chocked full of Pau Gasol silly looking crybaby flops and Kobe looking like a fool going like 2 for 65 or something. Wish the Celtics would have won just for the fact that they were playing like they deserved it. I have to say, Ive seen better "flops" by a pancake cook during a 2 hour stop at a Kansas truck stop. The officials really need to work on being able to identify true fouls and silly (dive across the floor while looking up at the sky while flailing both arms and legs tongue out eyes rolled back in the head epileptic-esque convulsions) non fouls. Or better yet...call a foul on the one that was "fouled" due to over acting. That would rock. Oh...and who was the Opie looking red headed dude that looked like he walked off the set of some Will Ferrell movie?? I wish he would have dunked on Kobe's head. Oh well.

Apparently, you can get a virus FROM your computer. Not sure if there has been scientific studies to suggest this yet but I have been down and out for the last week with some kind of respiratory thing that is suspiciously similar to the virus my computer had...sad thing is I cant do a human version of a hard drive wipe and re-install my software. Oh well...if I don't get better by Tuesday...Ill go see the Doc.

Well, we had a computer virus on the computer for about a week or so now and I had to wipe the drive and start over. Good news is...the computer now runs as good as it did when we bought it! Bad news is...all of the software we bought since then and all the programs we downloaded are now gone and have to be redone. Not hard to do, just time consuming.

Anyhow, on a different note, we are looking to finish the bathrooms this next month and do a bit of yard work and then we are planning to put the house on sale. The final step before looking west. Seems so crazy that we are getting to that final point. I'm so happy! Keep ya posted.

Nuggets head home...

Well, the Nuggets lose to the Jazz and head home with their heads down wondering about what should have been. The simple answer to all those Nuggz fans out there like me:

We were better than that and we knew it. Don't blame the coach. Don't blame the stupid officials. Don't blame the Mormon morons of Utah. We had what it took...and we didn't use it. Bottom line: You are only as good as your TEAM plays. If one person gets down or mad its up to the others to rise them up. Sometimes you just gotta look at each other...realize that there is a bunch of people around you at that precise moment that want you to fail so bad. You have so many problems outside that court that will be waiting for you when you walk off of it win or lose. You just need to look at each other, look down at your legs, look down at your hands, pound your chest and think "Im going to leave everything right here right now on this here spot and win or lose Ill still be walking down that tunnel over there on my way home later. Lets do this!"

We didnt do that for the entire game...only for part of it. Thats why we lost.

So suck it up buttercups, we got a new year to get ready for. Quit bitch'n and get in the gym. Next year we walk out on the court and hand out nothing but biggy fries and black eyes. Till then ... get mad and get ready.

We went to the St. Louis Zoo for the first time this year and had a great day. Here are some of the pics I took of our time. All of the animals were realy active this time of year. Everything was out and awake and just loving the nice day. The pictures of the lions turned out pretty good but if you look real close in a couple of the pics, you will see the female lion up in the tree about 30 feet off the ground. My favorite pics to take though were the ones of the chimps. They all were just sitting together and looking my camera with such personality. The pictures of the elephant all have a bit of a different feel, just by changing the camera angle or by framing the elephants face with some foreground folliage. Note how the pics of the elephant change the mood with just a couple steps to the left and some leaves. Anyhow, here are some of our pics.

Olympic Games Over for 4 more years

The Winter Olympics come to an end and the ending ceremony was almost as cool as the opening ceremony. Not quite, but still pretty cool.

So as you can see, USA did awesome this Olympics! Bobsled Gold has not happened for over 62 years. Russia seems to be a bit mad (though I can't understand why) that they only got 15 medals. During the closing ceremonies it was said that Russia assumed they would get 40 or so....hmmmm....cocky? Just a thought olympic medical group...may want to check the Russkies for super juice in 2014. Just saying. Well, looks as though USA and Canada whooped that candy bootay! It will be awhile before we blog about the Olympics again. 2012 to be exact in the Summer Olympics. Till then, we can rest easy knowing that our best of the best threw down a right proper medal collection in 2010. Good job USA. We rule.

Taylor had his tournament to end the season and out of 3 games Taylor's team won 2 close shootouts. I'm so proud of my boy. Of all the players on the Nuggs, Taylor looks up to the "Bird Man" and loves to throw down the swattage. I loved to watch my son throw down basketball style. Never knew he had it in him but it looks as though he is a hoops man more so than he likes to carry the rock down field for 7. Proud of him. Awesome beginning to my weekend.

2010 Winter Olympics

The Winter Olympics are back again, and I am loving it! I have really started to become a fan of the Olympics since the 2000 Olympics that took place in Sydney Australia. My wife and I were just on the first couple years of our marriage with our little baby boy Taylor playing around on the floor of our little du-plex. It was summer 2000 and we got into the Olympics together for the first time. Here it is 10 years later and we now have a full family with my wife our son and daughter and I all watching the winter Olympics in Vancouver going on and we are just enjoying this time like you would not believe. The 2012 Summer Olympics will be something I have been looking forward to since the last one ended! London...that should be cool. What would be even cooler is if I could somehow acquire tickets to be there. Most likely not...but my wife and I WILL go to and be part of an Olympic crowd someday...mark my words. I am still looking forward to moving from Missouri soon, but the memories we have made and the memories we are making will last a lifetime. I hope you all are keeping up with all the Olympic fun on T.V. because this has already been a pretty good run for the USA.

Off to Wal-Mart to get some K-cups for our "totally coo" coffee maker Santa bought us and then back home for some Olympic Curling and speed skating action! BOOYA!

Those of you that know me know I love the winter. It is one of my favorite times of the year. In order for me to enjoy the spring and the summer, I have to have had a good winter with snow and ice and cold and snow days and winter storm warnings and all that good stuff. For the first time in a very long time Missouri has had a decent winter. Not as much snow as I would have liked, but it has been "winter-ish". For so many years you have seen me make fun of Missouri "so called" winters and for the most part winter in Missouri is disappointing to say the least. This year was probably the first time I have seen a white Christmas in over two decades and that is sad....however....this winter has come through for me somewhat. I could go right into spring time now and be happy if it tuned 65 and sunny tomorrow. In fact, I hope it warms up soon but does not do the typical Missouri spring that lasts 2 days and goes directly into 105 temps and water logged humidity, but instead holds the 60's for a couple months...ala' Colorado. Wont happen...but I can wish. So here I am to tell you officially.....Bring on the spring. I could use another month of cold and white but I would be fine with the sun as well. So much to do, and the warmer it gets..the more stuff I will be able to accomplish this year.

Nuggz won tonight...good game. Called CJ...no love. Hope everything is good in your world bro.

So it official. The sun has set and the Broncos lose a chance to get to the playoffs once again, and Bronco fans everywhere wonder what happened. Well the coach made the great decision to bench both B. Marsh and Scheffler....cuz, and get this, he thought we were just as good without them. Hmmm...how'd that work out for ya little guy? Time for some growing up. None the less the season is over and for me that is a sad sad sad thing....oddly enough though about a week after its over, I get focused on the more important things in life and refocus on what REALY matters....getting to Colorado. So today I can be sad that my Broncos lost...but be happy that I can now exhale and make changes in my life to better ME. So goodnight Mile High...till next fall. Now for the new year and all of the exciting things that will come with it. Oh and to my friend George and my cuz who were both Orton fans...I hate to be the one to say it about Orton...but he sucks...and I told you so. Yo cuz...I like Knob Creek. So yet another year is coming to an end and everyone is busy getting their lists together to get their drink on proper style! Ok..so maybe that's just me. You see, during the year I try not to overdo anything that may lead to me acting a bit...eh....well using a word: "Weird". There are not a lot of people who know what that means...aside from my sisters and my wife's sisters and their families. I have not had too much to drink this year unless I was siting at a table with a certain game sitting in front of me. Now let me tell ya, this game is EVIL! It starts off with all of us sitting around the table with pencils in hand and blank lists that you can write whatever you want when answering certain simple enough questions about anything and everything you can possibly imagine. Now I for one love this game cuz it gives me the ability to let loose with all kinds 'o stuff under the guise of the "just for fun" shield but my wife and her naughty sisters...who are reading this now I'm sure (yep...pointing at you) bring many adult beverages to the table and well....things get...uh...Raw Dog big daddy style by the end of my 3'd glass of said beverage. Still, I wouldn't trade those times for anything! Anyhoo...not sure how I got onto that whole shtick but I guess what I'm trying to say is I hope you all end the year with a bang...but a safe and happy bang...and if you happen to meet my wife or her sisters at the store next to a certain liquor section of any non particular store and they invite you to come over for an innocent board game....well...make sure to bring a non alcohol beverage. Oh...and leave the utter cream at the store. I'm just sayin.

Congratulations to the officials and the announcers of the Raider Bronco game. The Raiders lost the game, but yet somehow you managed to get the score to show differently. I am disgusted as a Bronco fan first but as a football fan second by the announcers or should I say Raider lovers and by the officiating of not just this game but every game up to this point including tonight and not just for the Broncos games but many games that I have watched. I think that officiating has become more of a waste of game time than a help to safe and honorable game play. But hey, you officials and announcers got what you needed....a payload on bets. What was the odds anyhow ... 20 to 1? Merry Christmas to you guys....go buy your kids and wives gifts from dirty money made from your pitiful calls. Hey Raider ....great game! You got laser pointers and elbows to our QB's head with no call...not that I thought the officials would have called it anyhow. They have a hard time making the right call on any given play! Your team sucks....Your QB is a waste....you fans are some of the saddest excuses of any kind of team fans...more like hookers cheer on their pimps and your record shows it. Anyhow...enjoy your win...what is that like 1 game in like 5 years against us? You will undoubtedly be pummeled by our team more than once over the coarse of the next 12 months. Savor your cheat...enjoy your officials....and prepare to get handed another losing season in 2010. NFL....you should be ashamed. All that money coming in and you cant find anyone worth the black and white striped shirts they wear. As far as the announcers....Trash. Trash and worthless idiots. You would do better than that hiring American idol losers. They may not know football...but they would at least be more interesting to listen to. Time to get out the good old radio and listen to those announcers. A bunch of hacks and addicted gamblers...the whole lot of you NFL guys. You suck and your games are starting to make me become a basketball fan. You should be embarrassed you imbeciles. Go take a short walk off a tall mountain you lack luster money munchers. Maybe you can purchase a parachute from some Raider fan for a good price...come to think of it...that would be a great idea...cuz they would have most likely forgot to add the pulling strings...(due to the lack of any thinking or reasoning skills). Here I go, going against my own posts. I feel like I am in the twilight zone! So we go years without a defense..and when we get a top 3 defense in the NFL we lose our ability to score TD's?! What the heck is going on? Well I have a good idea on what is happening:

*The Broncos had a franchise QB in Jay Cutler.

*We get a young coach (which I happen to like now) that decides to go a different route with a QB.

*We trade Jay to get Kyle Orton.

*Orton Doesn't throw interceptions....we win games....we are happy.

*We watch week after week while our defense stops team after team and Kyle Orton doesn't throw interceptions...we win games...we are happy.

*We start to realize that our defense is a huge reason we are winning games because we are not scoring...but we will not allow the other team to either so we get a couple field goals and a TD or two and win games....we are happy.

*We play a team that has a QB that gets lucky and the other teams D gets charged and ready to play....we lose....not happy...but not too concerned.

*We play a team that has a great super bowl QB and stop him with stellar defense for an entire half...we are unable to score, but not throwing any interceptions or making any 3d down conversions, or touchdowns....(starting to see a trend)...the great super bowl QB gets into his groove and starts to do his thing....which is throw mid to mid deep balls for completions...our defense still holds..but starts to tire....we give our QB an opportunity to win the game...and he throws his second interception of the year for a pic 6....throws his third interception of the year (there goes the whole "Orton is a safe QB that does not make mistakes")....throws his 4th pic and I start to realize...as should the entire Bronco Country: WE NEED A QB THAT CAN THROW OVER 18 YDS! The Broncos literally, not metaphorically, LITERALLY destroy the hopes and dreams of poor little cry me a "Rivers" as they serve up a fat 34 - 23 loss to the Eggo Chargers! Broncos go 6-0 for the first time in a long time. The beginning of the game started as expected...the jaw happy Rivers and his filthy team disrespected the Broncos as they enter the field by trying to start a skirmish. The Broncos just smiled...and walked away..some actually cried quietly knowing about the impending Hammer Whomping the poor Rivers was about to get handed. The announcers had to do what they love to do and jump on the coat tail of Rivers before the game by thinking the Chargers were going to somehow win....and then quickly had to dive off many times as the coat tail of the Crybaby Quarterback was ripped to shreds time after time by the Sack attack of our beloved Broncos. The best pass of the sad QB was an almost "girl-ish" forward two handed "push the ball away" woobie toss for about 5 feet to an open chubs mcgee for a pretty decent yardage gain. During the toss you could almost hear Rivers actually say in a very feminine way..."Just TAKE it you big meanie!" After that, the QB was under constant attack...hitting the ground more than a fat mans sneakers on a 3 mile jog towards a bowl of freshly made fudge brownies. Anyhow...Being the gentleman that Dumervil is he then tried to gently fold the pieces of Phillips Coat tail into some recognizable piece...and handed it over to the weeping Eggo QB.

So....a tackle? Or a request for a huggy wuggy? Still not sure...ended up a TD though so its all good.

Not sure about this guy yet, but my friend assures me that he is a christian...so he's got at least that going for him...well that and the fact that he is a smart player that does not throw stupid interceptions or cry like a baby if things don't seem to be going his way. I am starting to like this guy more and more each game. He may not be an elite QB..but he's not a stupid one and with our defense and ability to make big plays after the catch that may be all we need.

Six Flags Fright Fest

We've been going to Six Flags this summer as we always do, but this month is Fright Fest! We look forward to this every year when the spookies come out and start to walk around the park. My favorite ride as a little boy was the moon cars and as of last year they are officially back! They were taken from the park for many years and I was starting to think that they were gone forever. Took this picture of Rae and Taylor tearing down the highway on one of the moon cars. I do need to teach Rae how to drive a bit better. Poor Taylor feared for his life during the ride but said "Dad, I will do what it takes to get THE shot!" After posting bail for Rae to get out of jail and Taylor to get out of the psych ward I finally decided to post the image. Enjoy. People are asking me what I think of my Broncos this year...let me just state some important stuff for you to suck into your brain. The Broncos have not been a great defensive team for many years. As a matter of fact the offense has been near unstoppable on many days but even on those days the defense probably let them down or at least almost did. I know that my team is good this year...5-0 or 4-1 they are a team you have to worry about if you are playing against them on any given day of football. I'm looking forward to this weekend and the Patriots. Do I think we can beat them? Ill tell you this. Win or lose, on Sunday afternoon when the smoke clears and one team has more points than the other...the Broncos will not care anymore...because we are looking to the next game after the last second of the 4th quarter rings out. In short...no team holds any more weight than the other in our eyes. If our defense shows up we will not only win, but shock the NFL with a blowout. Broncos by 14!

I close with the Broncos fan pledge that hangs proudly over the streets of Denver:

Well, needless to say, the Broncos are 4-0 and I am excited! Ive watched each game and from day one I noticed one thing...our defense is different than it has been since the late 90s till now. I have never seen one of our guys get as close to blocking a punt or kick for many a game now but lately I have seen close misses in every game...mark my words...you will see a blocked kick or punt sometime with this defense in the near future. Now as for our 4-0...do we deserve the recognition of the entire NFL just because we are 4-0? I have friends that honestly believe that Orton has everything to do with our record...well that remains to be seen. He has not thrown a pick yet this is true..but I have watched every game and he has thrown several "shoulda been" picks. One for sure is the now dubbed "immaculate deflection" and 0ne other notable pickables was the now famous catch that Marshall ran into the end zone for 6 in our game against the Cowboys. Now I will not sit there and tell you that I am not happy with the game play by Orton, I love my Broncos and he is a Bronco so I am on his side...but the standout difference this year is our D! We are currently the #1 D in the entire NFL...that is awesome considering we were at the bottom this time last year. How about that pick by Bailey!!!

Do I think that we can pull out a playoff birth this year? I gotta tell ya, it feels as though we have gotten back our #1 receiver! The hug shared between Marshall and McDaniels was a good sign. As if McD was saying "welcome back to the team foo!" Glad you are pulling it together Marsh! Welcome back sucka! Awe Yea! Couple more games like this Denver and you need to dig deep in that pocket and PAY THE MAN! Randy Moss and T.O. will be asking for his autograph. If our team can keep healthy, keep the chip on our shoulder, and play safe offense and aggressive defense we may be a team that others fear. We are certainly the best team in our bracket, but we have always been. The difference is that with a potent offense and a 4 quarter killing defense we stand as one of the better teams in the entire AFC. Bring it on New England...we are already picked to lose...imagine how the NFL will clear their bowels in their britches if we pull out a second upset in 2 weeks! Get ready Broncos...stay focused and if you need me you know my number!

Red Bluff Camping

So this weekend we took the kids to my childhood camp ground. Red Bluff. It was the second time my little family has been there and my...well too many to count. Camping at Red Bluff will always be one of my best childhood memories, and now I can share that with my wife and kids. It was a perfect camping weekend...not too hot during the day, and cool nights. We stayed from Thursday till Sunday. Mom and Dad came down on Friday to eat supper and hang out at the site before going to a hotel to spend the night. They came back to enjoy my campfire breakfast complete with fresh blueberry pancakes, eggs, Burgers Smokehouse bacon, and sausage. We also learned to make coffee with a campfire coffee percolator! Good stuff. Both my sisters and their kids and James came down as well. It was Dylan and Evan's birthday and we enjoyed having all of them down there with us. Some of the pictures I took are below.

This past weekend we, once again, went to Six Flags. This was the only thing I really wanted for my birthday. Why? you ask. Well, Colbie Caillat was there giving a concert, and not only did we go, but my hubby forked out the extra buck to get us into VIP seating. That's right we were center stage, three rows back. WOW!!!!!! Anyhooooo, here are some pics of our day.

Out and about

Since buying my bike I have realized many things that I have been missing out on. For one, on the way to work I smell everything....I have really taken notice that the honey suckles are out in full form lately. I smell them around almost every turn with trees or bushes around. I have also enjoyed the change in temp from out on a highway in 85 degrees one minute to going around the bend and down a hill into a valley where it seems to change to 75 degrees instantly. It feels cool on the skin. Then there are the negatives. You know when you are going down the road and you smell a skunk? Well on the bike...you SMELL skunk! I mean it would be like someone threw one IN your car as you were going down the road. Also...I have to tell ya...a light rain...STINGS! All in all it has more positives that I cant really explain but that all of you that ride understand without me having to. I had to fill my gas tank today. I got about 130 miles on my little tank before it started to sputter. I could have rode another 30 or so on my reserve tank but I filled it this afternoon. A whopping $7.83 filling of premium gas. Ill have to fill it again in a couple months so I better start saving now...HA! (..a 84 Ford Bronco is heard crying in the background) I have to say, I love the ride.

St. Louis Weekend

We recently took a family trip to St. Louis and had a ton of fun. It started Friday by spending the day at Six Flags. You would think that the Friday of Memorial Day weekend that it would be packed, but we literaly walked on to "Batman the Ride." I think the longest we waited was 10 min for Thunder River. On Saturday we went to the Science Center and the Planetarium to watch the star show. Its amazing to see what is up in the sky if you get away from the city lights and up higher in the air. Like say on a mountain in Colorado :-) Anyway here are some quick pics of our day.

After many trips to the pool and hot tub, our trip was coming to a close. But not until we hit the essentials and my and Bryant's main reason for going to St. Louis.....World Market (chocolate-caramel sauce), Trader Joe's ( two-buck chuck wine...lots of it), and White Castle (belly-bombers). All in all it was a great weekend and I can't wait to go back.

Tearing Dallas up and down back and forth they are now resting and waiting...for anyone to step up. I'm loving the way they are tearing it up! They have not been anywhere close to win this thing since 1985. Nice to see them step up their game. Bout darn time!

So Ive been riding around on the motorcycle a bit more now that it is warming up but to get a warm day lately isn't the problem...its the rain. Now I love a thunderstorm more than anyone else out there...but I want to ride the bike. Cant the rain stick to Friday-Sunday times?

I have been blessed to be the second half of a perfect relationship for the last 10 years. I look back at the last decade and smile with an almost childlike innocence...but look forward to the future with the excitement of knowing how good it is going to get. This picture was taken in the very early morning hours in St. Thomas. Deidra and I woke up and realized that this particular moment in time would never come again. Sure we would experience a similar situation...maybe even in the same location...but never would this second..minute..or hour ever happen again. So we sat out on that balcony...and enjoyed what we knew was a perfect moment, as Taylor and Rae lay sleeping soundly only 10 feet away. That moment will be something that I will never forget. You are the perfect match for me in every way. I look at you and I do not only see my wife...but someone I still feel honored to just stand next to. Someone that amazes me in every way only to amaze me yet again in another just moments later. You make me see the person I need to be and the person I want to become. Happy Anniversary baby. Thank you. I love you.

Got some things to do today so I took the day off. 1st on the list is to go get my NEW MOTORCYCLE! BooYA! Decided to go with a 750 although many tell me I will want a bigger bike soon. Its an 07 Honda Shadow Aero. Not a bad starter bike. Went online and found a picture of the exact bike I bought though it does it no justice. Here is a pic of it below. Real pics of the bike (and me on it) to come really soon. Also, I would officially like to let you all know that I am ready for the spring. I got my yearly winter fix...and now its onto looking forward to the spring. Not to say a couple big snow storms would not be too shabby.

Ok, so I took a bit of a break. Those of you that have been checking into my sight and thinking...."did he die or something?" Or something like..."I have my morning coffee but since his post isn't new...I just cant go to work so heck with it...SICK DAY!" You no longer have anything to fear. Pikes Peak or Bust 2009 is in full swing! Time for me to start posting about things other than my fall/winter love: Football. It is already February in 2009! Middle February as a matter of fact! Crazy how time goes by. Well here it is...our last true year in this crazy state. We have been getting our things in order and are now in the phase of talking about real things. Since my birthday last month, I have enrolled in a photography class. It will take close to 2 years to complete it, but I might as well learn something about what I truly love to do and maybe make some money while doing it.

So anyhoo Im going to post a lot more now.

Season 2008 Over.

So as the sun goes down in the west behind Mile High, the 2008 Bronco season ends on a pretty low note. Not because we lost, but because we lost to a lesser team with a lesser QB. The reasons we lost are clear to anyone who looks and knows about our team. Injuries. When most of your entire teams 1st team both offense and defense are injured, you just hope that you have guys in the 2nd 3d and 4th position on down have what it takes to get the job done. What I have seen from our unknown players is a positive thing. Next year, there isn't too many teams out there that can say that they almost made it to the playoffs with a team composed of new and unknown players. We almost made it to the playoffs with our bench and that is an awesome thing. Next year we will have our 1st stringers back, and some unknowns that have proven themselves to be starters. I kinda feel sorry for the AFC West next year. We will undoubtedly be one of the best teams in the NFL. Get some rest boys. Heal up. And get ready. San Diego? No Super Bowl win for you this year I'm afraid. You don't have what it takes.

Silver Dollar City!

A couple weekends ago, we went to Silver Dollar City with our family on my wife's side. It was a great time to be had by all...but was not quite as fun or the same without her dad. We all missed Jim but enjoyed the trip. The kids got to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas but unfortunately I didn't get to tell him what I wanted..I didn't think his lap could take the pressure. Anyhoo here are some of the pics we took of our Branson trip.

Rae Just found out that her kiddy coaster ride broke down...as you can tell by Taylors face...I dont think the "kiddy" coaster breaking down was as much of a downer for him.

Though an innocent smile on her grill is portrayed...I know the true thoughts that seep from deep within the dark corners that exist in her mind...Just takes a bit of beer and a late night drinking game to bring it out! I, along with the entire US of THE America, watched in awe and admiration and just straight up love as the best QB in the world...no...in the solar system...nay...the UNIVERSE played like no other QB has played the game on national television! We watched in complete silence and reverence as he passed for a mind boggling....gut staggering...non human unattainable numerical figure of 239 yds in the air and 2 TD passes to....eh...or wait....lose? But the way that the announcers were chewing and savoring the Brady Quinn burger was so palpable?!? There HAS to be a mistake! Whats that you say? You mean that Jay Cutler played? He what??!! He did good?!?! BETTER!? Well don't that just drop a stinky brown lump in my bowl of vanilla pudding!

HA! HA! HARDY HAR HAR!
That's right folks...you have to come to my blog to get the real story...the one that you may have watched...but didn't know was going on! Here is the breakdown..as it happened.
"Cutler passed for a career-high 447 yards, throwing three touchdown passes in the fourth quarter - the last an 11-yarder to Brandon Marshall with 1:14 remaining - to rally the broken Denver Broncos to a 34-30 win over the Cleveland Browns , spoiling Quinn's highly hyped debut as an NFL starter. The Broncos entered the fourth quarter trailing 23-13, but Cutler, borrowing a page out of John Elway's comeback playbook, brought Denver back. He recorded his fifth career fourth-quarter comeback victory despite losing two more running backs to injuries and only having his fullback to carry the ball." That is a quote taken directly from a post on SI.com.

If you were wanting to know what B. Marsh was pulling out from under his shirt before Stoke came up to stop him, it was a glove that he had painted half black and half white to signify the unity of black and white Americans during the presidential campaign. You have to admit...that is pretty cool, no matter how you voted. Stoke told him to put it away..cuz the game was too close and it may be interpreted as a celebration..causing a penalty we could not afford. Cool huh. Not some selfless act like Chad Ocho Cuervo Johnson or T.O. has done in the past...but a selfLESS act of true Red White and Blue. I love my team!

Needless to say...THE BRONCOS WIN! 34-30. And all due to our little man rookie wide receiver Eddie Royal and his 93 yd TD reception that pumped up our offense and our stud B. Marsh and ignited a fire under our defense and our 2nd 3d and 4th stringers! That's heart folks!
To add some salt and vodka to the Brownie's loss....it was their 8th straight loss to the Denver Bronx...including 3 times in AFC title games...including one "DRIVE" by a certain #7. Needless to say..they hate us. HA!

Back From De Islands Mon!

Well I have to say, this was by far the most beautiful islands and water I have ever seen! This was a first for the kids. They have never been on a plane and they have never been to the ocean. I have compiled some pics from a very VERY large amount of pics taken from both my and my wife's cameras. I may add more later as I need to go through all of them. Several hundred pics taken and I hope at least half are great. I have no doubt they are. So without further skadoosh!......

Rae Found out that she loves the water

Here was one of many jelly fish that we saw while swimming in the ocean. After one of the local life guards told us its a "moon jelly" and that it wouldn't hurt, I carefully lifted it out of the water so that we could all touch this beautiful creature. It felt a bit like soft stiff jelly.

The 2 pics above were taken at our pool in "Blue Beards Castle". There was a waterfall that we took full advantage of during the tropical noon day sun.

Taylor learned how to dive...Grandpa learned how to relax.

Not too many people can say they learned to swim in the Virgin Islands....Rae however, can.

These lizards were all over the place! In fact you can say they were the local "dogs" and they begged for food just as a dog would! See if you can count how many lizards are "begging" for food around the table of that family!

One morning Deidra and I woke up extra early...around 3...to be lucky enough to catch this pic out off our deck at Blue Beards.

This cove is where we were on live cam that day. If you look to the middle of the pic and then directly left you will see the tree line and beach area that we were standing on. You can even see the boat we were standing in front of and the dock itself.

These are 2 of my favorite pics I took. It was late at night and as you can tell the clouds were rolling in. I pulled these pics off just before an island storm. They were taken from our pool overlook at Blue Beards Castle after a wonderful spaghetti dinner made by mom and dad at their room. We had many "Bushwhackers" that night dad. Good time.

The first day we got to the islands...I got this pic of my kids outside our room. They stayed out on that deck for many hours that first week.

For those of you who wonder where all the other people are....we didn't know! And we didn't care. We felt as though we had the whole place to ourselves..and most of the time...we did!

The Grill Says It All! HA! I'd like to say it was photshop..but this was actually right before the press conference. Wook at his wittle cheeks! Oooh da wittle guy is all angwee!

You got to love it when an NFL team gets what they deserve and in this case...Philip "cry me a" Rivers, the AFC's biggest trash talking QB gets to sit down to a nice quiet dinner of humble pie served by the next big QB to hit the NFL: Jay Cutler. I have to tell you it warms the heart. Spin it as you will guys...the bottom line is that with or without the officiating mistake on the fumble call, you can't erase the stats...Jay cutler 36/50 for 350 yds and 4 TD's and one 2 point conversion. He made it look easy. As for Rivers? Sure the score looks nice..but they got lucky on a returned kickoff TD and a "kiss my lucky ring" hail mary bomb. The score would not even be close if we decided to play it safe and run the ball in instead of the throw that was picked from Cutler in the end zone. The Broncos deserved the win ... and that's a fact. San Diego's QB crybaby needs to learn to shut his mouth, grow up and play ball. Enough said...on to "Nallin's!"

You just got to love it when the Raiders play the Broncos. At the so called "black hole" (well named do to the fact that they "suck") the Bronx handed the Raiders their first of many losses of the year. Everyone knows that the Broncos will win when they play the Raiders, home or away, but even I didn't see that massive throat stomping commin! 41-14!! Wow. Broncos go 1-0 on the season. Cutler looks clean, crisp, powerful and accurate and our rookie Royal looks to be a WR force to be reckoned with! ...on to the Chargers.

Here we go folks! The 2008 Football season is about to commence! With Pre-Season starting tomorrow and our first time back onto the field gets closer, I get out of my summer funk and start to warm up for the fall! The Bronx have had some woes over the last half year including a stupid injury to our top receiver and finding out that our young new QB has diabetes and to add salt to the wounds, CJ has informed me...reluctantly....John Lynch is not with the Bronx anymore. Apparently we think we would be better off with someone else as our starter. (Ooof.) I hope our year starts out better than predicted by the football announcers. I have a feeling that no matter what they say, our Mile High Magic will overcome any skepticism that those "suits" and wannabe's can throw our way. Let the Mile High THUNDA roll! Broncos start the pre-season on Saturday, August 9th @ Houston. Let the butt whoopin commence!

I am coaching my sons football team this year and am looking forward to doing it. Of coarse I filled out the coaches paperwork as soon as I got it so I could enter my team choice. Got the paperwork back early this week showing my team.....THE BRONCOS! Booya baby!

Just a quick post to all my friends and family out there. My wife's bro is in the hospital resting up after some pretty serious health probs that occurred suddenly and unexpectedly this weekend. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this tough time. I know he is a strong person and have no doubt that he will overcome this situation.

Hope everyone has been having a great start to the summer! Mine has been a pretty good one I must say. In the last month Deidra's job has given her 2 raises! One for the gas price change, and one because I think they are afraid she will look elsewhere for a job due to the distance she has to drive to get there. I love that Deidra has a job that actually pays her for her job performance. My job is a job that pays you despite of it. Not to say I don't pull my weight, but there are those I have seen in the past 10 years that move up due to the time they put in...not the work effort. Will I become supervisor if I stay in my job...yes. Will it be because I am a great leader and someone who my workmates can look up to and follow? Although I would be a great supervisor and a hard worker..sadly these are not the reasons I would be chosen. Nope. I would be chosen specifically for the time I have stayed in my job and by passing a written exam that I would study for and of coarse pass. State work...nuff said.

Well we have been to six flags 4 times since it opened this spring and I have been to my first water park and busted belly first down a water slide for the first time since I was in my mid teens. Going to go there again real soon!

Dad has officially retired from work as of a couple weeks ago and is loving the home life! Although he officially has not seen home due to the fact that he took off to the islands right after his exit! Mom, Dad and my sister and two boys just got back from a long leisurely trip to the Virgin Islands last weekend. You know how when you leave your home and go on a long trip and when you get back you feel like you have had enough of vacations for awhile? Well they seem to have missed that memo. Mom and Dad are already planning our trip to the islands in the fall. Deidra and the kids are looking so forward to it! It's so close I can taste it! However I will have to call my brutha CJ on the weekends to see how the Bronx are doing. I will miss 2 games! Its all good...I will be thinking of them with a pina colada in my hand.

This is a pic from a "live" camera in the Virgin Islands. Shell called me up and had me go to this website and when I pulled it up..this is what I saw! Cool what the Internet has brought to our world eh? That is my mom and dad and my sisters 2 boys in the pic with my name in the sand. I was so excited to see it that I brought the kids down...of coarse they asked me to ask them to put their names on the sand as well:

They tried to get the names in before the water took them away..20 second lag time between pics but you can kind of see Hi Ray n Tay. That's my sister and one of her boys in the pic. Mom and dad are on the dock to the upper right coaching them on the job.
